About Me

I am a Ph.D student at the Dept. of Communication and Networking and my advisor is Prof. Jörg Ott. I mainly work in the area of multimedia and networks (for example: IPTV, over the top streaming [http], interactive peer-to-peer communication, telepresence) with emphasis on congestion control and rate-adaptation.

Currently writing up my doctoral thesis, see progress here (the page is written using Python, D3.js, Github and Parse APIs).

Publications List (click here)

Congestion Control using FEC for Conversational Multimedia Communication; Nagy M., Singh V., Ott J., Eggert L., MMSys 2014, Singapore [PDF]

Special assignments:

  • Hack OpenWRT for flow monitoring.

Multipath RTP

Adding multipath features to RTP/RTCP requires protocol extensions. MPRTP also requires additional algorithms for load balancing and adaptive playout.

Congestion Control

Rate-control for conversational interactive real-time media in heterogeneous environments (for example: WLAN, 3G and high throughput-low latency networks).

HTTP Streaming

Interaction of congestion-control with CDN caching (media segment size, cache size). Also challenges with pre-buffering in 3G environments.
