Personnel

Tech.Lic. Seppo Uusitupa is the teacher. The easiest way to contact him is by email (seppo@technologist.com).

Kirsi Voipio is the main assistant. She is responsible for the web assignment, excursion, and the course home pages. Her office hours are on Wednesdays 10-12 in room SG212. She can also be contacted by email (kirsi@tct.hut.fi).

Eeva Nyberg and Mika Ilvesmäki are responsible for the weekly excercises. They can be contacted by email (eeva@tct.hut.fi and lynx@tct.hut.fi).

This course deepens the knowledge given on the spring course S-38.105. This includes e.g. data networks, basic transfer techniques, switching, services and service architechtures, network modeling and routing, and introduction to teletraffic theory.

The course has lectures (in Finnish), calculation excercises, an excursion and a group assignment (the "web assignment"). Lectures will be given on the first half term every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8-10 a.m. in lecture halls S3 and S1 respectively, and the calculation excercises every Tuesday at 2-4 p.m. in lecture hall S5. Material

The required reading is Understanding Telecommunications 1 by Studentlitteratur, Ericsson Telecom and Telia. If someone is willing to organize a group order, it may be possible to get the book a little cheaper than directly from the bookstore. So far no-one has volunteered to do this.
