TKK | Tietoverkkolaboratorio | Opetus
Session: | 5 |
Time: | 28.10.2003 |
Speaker: | Jari Vainikka, Nokia, Director |
Topic: | Standardization - A driving force? |
Note: This year the online lectures
were produced (by different persons) using different software and therefore they work well only in MS
Windows and probably in Macs. Efforts will be done to get them working
in e.g. UNIX too. Anyway, the pure Real Video file can be used and that should work in almost any
popular OS (this way the slides (and other frames) may appear in the browser in sync but you can also
download them from the "Slides" link).
The audio/video-files are mainly compressed to have 256 Kbps bitrate (in reality at least Real Media systems use a slightly lower rate to guarantee continuous streaming (225 Kbps in this case)). The files are streamed from a normal web server so the streaming may not work as well as possible. If the presentations don't start to play well, sometimes it helps if you clear the browser's cache. |
