Floating Content Applet:

Briefly: The floating content scheme aims to distribute location specific information objects without any fixed infrastructure relying solely on short range communication (e.g., Bluetooth) between mobile nodes passing through the interest area (anchor zone).

The applet demonstrates a model system. The light green area corresponds to the anchor zone. The red nodes carry the information object, and delete it once they move outside the anchor zone. Depending on the system parameters, the information either floats considerably long periods, or disappears fast.

Once the information has been lost, the applet creates a new information item and assigns it to a random seeder node within the zone. This node is indicated with an additional circle around it.
