Yleistä

Tiedonvälitystekniikka I:n vaatimuksiin kuuluu ISDN- ja SS7-merkinantoa käsittelevien opetusohjelmien läpikäyminen. Kurssivaatimuksiin sisältyy CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 1 (Fundamentals) ja ISDN Advanced. Ao. ohjelmista ja niihin liittyvästä materiaalista tulee myös tenttikysymyksiä.

Mikäli pohjatietosi ISDN:stä ovat heikot voit myös käydä läpi ISDN Overview -osuuden ja mikäli kaipaat edistynyttä lisämateriaalia yhteiskanavamerkinannon tiimoilta voit käydä läpi myös CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 2 (Developments) -osuuden. Ylimääräistä materiaalia voi käydä läpi omalla ajallaan, silloin kun koneella ei ole muita käyttäjiä.

Työ tehdään pareittain tai pakottavien syiden niin vaatiessa yhden hengen ryhmissä. Ohjelmien kattavaan läpikäyntiin kuluu yhdeltä työparilta noin 8 tuntia. Omaksumisen helpottamiseksi opetushenkilöstö suosittelee materiaaliin perehtymistä 2 tunnin erissä kerrallaan. Materiaalista kannattaa tehdä muistiinpanoja tenttiinluvun helpottamiseksi.

Aikojen varaaminen

Oheisesta varauslistasta (ilmoitustaululla) voi työpari varata suoritusaikoja kirjoittamalla omat nimensä haluamiinsa vapaina oleviin aikoihin. Luento- ja laskuharjoitusaikoina sekä pääsiäislomalla ei ole mahdollista varata aikoja.

Huom ! Tämä osuus on mitoitettu ilmoittautuneiden opiskelijoiden mukaan. Niillä opiskelijoilla, jotka ovat ilmoittautuneet opintojaksolle on etuoikeus ajanvarauksiin.

Työohje

Hae materiaali huoneesta SG224. Käynnistä kone. Windowssin käynnistyttyä laita A:-asemaan tarvitsemasi materiaalia vastaava levyke. Käynnistä ERICSSON-ohjelmaryhmästä tarvittava ohjelma. Anna käyttäjätunnus ja salasana levykkeen päällä olevien ohjeiden mukaan.

Työ tehdään Teletekniikan laboratoriohallissa (SG 220) tähän tarkoitukseen merkityllä koneella. Kysy opetushenkilökunnalta opastusta, jos et ole varma mikä kone on kysessä. Tehtyäsi työn palauta ohjekirja ja levykkeet opetushenkilökunnalle tai jos ketään ei ole paikalla, laita materiaali kurssin koodilla merkittyyn kaappiin ilmoitustaulun alla.

The course requirements for the course S-38.110 Switching Technology I include going through a computer program teaching about ISDN- and SS7-signalling systems. The required material is: CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 1 (Fundamentals) and ISDN Advanced. The material is required also in the final examination.

If your basic knowledge about ISDN or SS7 are not adequate you may go through ISDN Overview and if you want to know more about SS7 you may go through CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 2 (Developments).

Students are required to pair up to do the work. Only under force majeure-conditions it is allowed to go through the material alone. To study and learn the material sufficiently enough one group will require approximately 8 hours. To ease up the learning process it is highly recommended to divide the workload to two hours / session. The students are encouraged to make notes about the material for the examination.

The reservation lists are on the noticeboard. You may not reserve more than 8 hours / group.

Instructions in the lab:

The material required (diskette and manual) may be obtained from the room Sg 224. Power up the PC. After the Windows has started put the appropriate student diskette into drive A:. Start the program of your choosing from the ERICSSON-program group.

The work will be done in the laboratory hall of the laboratory of Telecommunications Technology (room SG 220) on a computer assigned specially and only for this purpose. Ask for instructions if you are not sure which computer you should use.

After you have completed your session return the disks and the manuals to the lab personnel. If no-one is around return the material to the locker marked with the course code below the noticeboard.

Please note !!

This part of the course is dimensioned according to the number of students registered to the course. If you have not registered yourself to the course you may still go through the material but only on such times that are not reserved by registered students. The registered students may "override" the unregistered students time reservations unnoticed.
