DECICOM - Project Overview

General

DECICOM (Decentralized Inter-Service Communications) is a three-year (May 2007 - April 2010) project in the area of distributed peer-to-peer based services in mobile networks.

We are witnessing a paradigm shift from the centralized infrastructure-oriented service model to more decentralized, service-oriented service model in mobile networks. The DECICOM project focuses on the research and development of novel distributed mobile applications and services, and the new type of business scenarios around them. In the center of the studies is the research and prototype implementations of novel peer-to-peer (P2P) SIP signaling, services and applications. Research questions include peer-to-peer and hybrid communication scenarios, such as P2P interworking with 3GPP IMS platform, from the viewpoint of terminal and network implementations.
