Spring 2004

The Exercise 4 results are listed in the result file (pdf). The list
includes only the results of the students who have registered to the
course. Among the exercise answers, there were a couple of documents
without any identification information, and also there were answers from
students who have not registered to the course. If your result is not in
the list, although it should be, please send email to piia@netlab.hut.fi.

Some general comments about grading the exercise:

Task 1a

- Both the messaging flow and the explanations of the messages were
required. The name of the message written with complete words (e.g. IAM =
Initial Address Message) does not alone describe the function of the
message.

Task 1b

- Two cases were required.
- Also some other cases than those presented in the exercise lecture were
accepted. However, they needed to be error cases noticed by either of
the exchanges, not e.g. a user dialling a valid but wrong number and
hanging up the phone.

Task 2

- The messaging flows for both the call attempt and release were required.
- The correct direction of the call release (called party hangs up the
call) was required.

Task 3

- The messaging flows for both the call attempt and release were required.
- The correct direction of the call release (calling party hangs up the
call) was required.
