Principles in Communications Engineering has a Finnish textbook known as Tietoliikenneaapinen ("Telecommunications primer"), 5th edition, which covers all the subjects needed to pass the exam. To give you the idea af the course book you can have a look at the English table of contents (of the 4th edition) in pdf-format. The table of contents of the 5th edition will be available soon.

Those students who have not yet gained enough knowledge in Finnish to read and understand written Finnish technical text, are recommended to use e.g. the following book:

This book covers most of the topics in Tietoliikenneaapinen, and some of them more thoroughly than the Finnish course book. In estimating the depth of knowledge you need to gain in each subject, it may be useful to glance through the Finnish course book with the help of the English table of contents. Copies of Tietoliikenneaapinen can be found eg. from the HUT main library.

Another good book which covers most (though not all) of the course topics, is very well written and easy to understand is

This may be easier to find from the library. The same study guidlines apply to this book (as well as to the Introduction to Telecommunications Network Engineering): print the English table of contents and use it as a list of topics you need to cover. Note, that you can use also other text books than these two mentioned here. If something cannot be found from the course book you are using, try to find it from another source.
