The lectures will be available thru the efforts of FUNET MBONE/VideoConferecing pilot group people. This service is not guaranteed, for each and every lecture, but is always depending weather the FUNET has the capacity and/or equipment to take care of the broadcast. So don't bet Your life on this.

Once you have successfully installed the INET-TV Viewer, activate it and configure (from the edge of the TV-screen) Configure - Internet - relay to read: "irelay.csc.fi". After this your program guide will be able to receive offered programs into the "TV Guide area". Wait a while (receiving programs) and the hit "sort" (alphabetizizes the list). Now you can find the FUNET- programs from around "F".
There will be one or two active testing-channels available titled "Funet TV TESTI", one for MPEG-1 and one for H.261. (H.261 is more robust and therefore also recommended). Telecom Forum transmission is, amazingly enough, titled "Telecom Forum", and is on Wednesdays, during the lectures.
Now, this being an experimental system and all, there may be some complications. For one, the fact that your TV-Guide says that some channel is "ACTIVE" does not, by any means, guarantee that this channel actually is active. If you are, after some double-clicks and some waiting, still watching "waiting for video" on a small screen, odds are that the channel is not actually active at this time. Find something elese to do.
Note: the course assistant of the S - 38.001 (me) does not actually own up to any degree of expertise in this video piloting technology, and has exhausted his knowledge on the system in just writing this guide. You are welcome to send questions, of course, regarding technical difficulties but the answers will most propably be rather vague...
