INTERO - InterOperability Mechanisms for IN/IP Telephony

CTRIP draft specification

Draft specification of CTRIP attributes (in PDF)
CTRIP is based on the Telephony Routing over IP (TRIP) protocol (RFC 3219), and the protocol is similar to TRIP with a new set of attributes. Currently, the draft specification only defines the attributes. It replaces Section 5 of RFC 3219 with a new Section 5 defining the attributes specific to CTRIP.

CTRIP defines more general versions of the corresponding concepts in TRIP. The most important modifications are the following:

ITAD (Internet Telephony Administrative Domain) TAD (Telephony Administrative Domain)
Next hop server Next hop address
LS (Location Server) CTRIP-speaker
TRIP identifier CTRIP identifier

For a complete description of the development of the CTRIP-protocol and the numbering architecture, please see the document "Nicklas Beijar: Distribution of Numbering Information in Interconnected Circuit and Packet Switched Networks" (PDF).
