I am working in Networking Laboratory at Helsinki University of Technology as a Research Scientist, with additional responsibilities of project management, lecturing and instructing student work.Degrees:
- Master of Science (in Technology)
- Licentiate of Science (in Technology)
- April 2004, Helsinki University of Technology
- Thesis: Telephony Routing with Support for Number Portability in Interconnected Circuit and Packet Switched Networks, (pdf).
- Major: Telecommunication Technology, minor: Interactive Digital Media.
- I am currently studying for a doctoral degree, with the thesis expected to be submitted for review in 2009.
The following is my current interest area in the DECICOM project:
- Search algorithms and indexing strategies in peer-to-peer networks
- Clustering and group management in peer-to-peer networks
- Applications and services based on peer-to-peer middleware in the cellular environment
- User studies of peer-to-peer applications and mobile services
- Simulation
The following is my current interest area in the Future Internet programme:
- Providing a IP-like interface to users in an End-to-End Ethernet network
- Prototyping
Other topics of interest (mainly from previous projects) include:
- Routing and service discovery in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs)
- Clustering in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs)
- IP telephony network architectures, signalling and routing
- SIP, TRIP, CTRIP and ENUM
- Interoperability in routing, addressing and number portability between SCN and VoIP networks
I am currently working on mobile peer-to-peer applications in the MobileP2P group in the DECICOM project. We are studying the feasibility of peer-to-peer based applications in the Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in the 3rd Generation (3G) cellular networks. In particular we are applying P2P-SIP to the mobile environment. The research methodolgy includes prototyping, simulation, mathematical analysis and user trials.
More information available on the DECICOM project page.
I am also doing research in the Future Internet programme. Our reseach group aims to develop solutions for below-IP networking.
