Current activities
Nowadays I am living in Reykjavik, and work as a lektor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Iceland.
My new homepage is here!
I am also a docent at Aalto and involved with two research projects funded by the Academy of Finland:
- Large-scale server systems: In the FQ4BD project, we study large-scale parallel server systems emerging in the context of cloud computing and Big Data. This includes new programming paradigms such as MapReduce and job replication.
- Energy efficient server farms: In the TOP-energy project, we studyserver farms in an energy-aware context. This includes the so-called task assignment problems, where our aim is to find optimal policies that (i) assign the incoming jobs to servers, and at the same time (ii) control the number of running servers.
